Our lab seeks to integrate the fields of Transfusion Medicine, Immunology/Microbiology and Glycobiology to answer fundamental questions that reside at the key interface of these disciplines.  In doing so, we hope to positively impact the fields of transfusion medicine, transplantation, autoimmunity and infectious disease.

We are fortunate to have individuals in our research group with backgrounds in a wide variety of areas, including carbohydrate biochemistry, immunology, hematology, microbiology and general biochemistry/cell biology.  Our work represents collaborative studies between individuals in our laboratory and other research laboratories, where we seek to combine these unique yet complementary disciplines to answer fundamental and clinically relevant questions through basic science and clinical studies.
